Death (of) Metal
I used to be so into Heavy Metal. And by Metal I'm not talking about the '80s-'90s hair bands; I was into the old Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. As much as I got into the alternative rock bands, I was also lamenting the fact that the classic metal albums have come and gone.
1990 was a great year for metal, and it was perfect for me because at 13, I was just discovering the albums released that year: Megadeth's Rust in Peace, Death Angel's Act III, Anthrax's Persistence of Time, and Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss.
Fast forward to today, where people like me only have Rapcore and NuMetal to listen to. It just doesn't give the same rush. I saw Metallica when they came to Manila back in 1993 and I had the time of my life.
I'm sure that this kind of music has artistic merit, I only think that it's something I no longer enjoy as much. In any case, here's what Brian Posehn thinks about it:
Bwarharhar, metal up your ASS!!!
