When someone HATES people have FUN
Recently, former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway, who used to play for the Miami Heat made hateful and homophobic comments against gay people. These comments were brought about the recent coming out of former NBA basketball player John Amaechi in his book "Man in the Middle" - some kind of memoir of his basketball career.
With the recent [insert hate group/factor/inclination here]-ist incidents involving celebrities like Mel Gibson (against Jews), Michael Richards (against niggers), and Tom Cruise (against psychologists), what's interesting is that the response against these individuals besides the obvious and inevitable public condemnation.
They've been roasted by the late-night comedy shows as well as the comedy-sketch shows (I'm sure the Simpsons, South park, and Family Guy had their jabs as well).
Here's a clip from the Jimmy Kimmel show featuring Zulu from Star Trek (George Takei who is a gay man) and his response to Tim Hardaway's hateful comments:
I wish we can make fun of celebrities and politicians here in the Philippines without getting killed.
