Executive Behavior

I'm doing my best not to write about organizational politics, as I will inevitably write about my own organization and probably get slapped with a libel case or three.

I figured that it would be lovely to post an anonymous blog ala Mini Microsoft, but since mine isn't a multinational, despite the number of employees - It'd be too easy to trace the posts to me - as I know so very few people blog or think about the kind of issues I want to talk about.

Maybe when I've left, or when a miracle in executive and cultural maturity of such unprecedented transparency occurs such that I could post my entries in the interests of management education.

Well, hope is, well, hope.

Recently I've been exposed to different accounts of executive behavior in a variety of corporations, and I am so apalled at the hubris shamelessly displayed (In a TV interview she would only talk about her personal accomplishment in building the company at the expense of talking about the product which was in the best interests of her many franchisers, as well as completely forget about the many platitudes she mentioned there when asked about them afterwards). I began to worry that this was a Filipino thing, but then again there are many books that narrate the rise and fall of arrogant executives.

I would be so interested in gathering accounts of executive behavior (not only bad behavior - there's Dilbert for that, but exemplary ones as well). Feel free to post your comments.
