Blog Envy

Okay, I finally did it. I was getting impatient witht the limitations of my friendster blog so That's the Game! 2.0 is here. I was so impressed with seekers anonymous and how smooth the transition from friendster was accomplished with all these new bells and whistles that I really committed to start a blog here.

What I probably won't do is transfer all my posts like what Betty did in the aforementioned blog. i can't believe the amount of effort it must have taken here to do so. I will then end up maintaining both blogs. How can I possibly do that?

I'm considering making this blog a clearing for full self-expression. Not that the previous one isn't, only that I feel like I can explore and write about a broader set of topics here and work with code - which opens up new realms of possibilities for my writing.

Yesterday I dropped by my alma mater De La Salle University where I finished with a degree majoring in Literature and a minor in Philosophy. Looking back at what my aspirations were as a student of the literary pursuits, I was limited in my notion of literary forms - poetry, fiction, essays, and drama.

So much so, that I was writing in my blog with a view to categorize my output in one of the standard literary forms - the most convenient category being the essay. However, journal entries may or may not follow the conventions of the literary essay. To save myself and any reader the trouble of figuring out how to relate to these writings - let us just call it a blog, and let it's youth (as a writing and publishing form) determine its own conventions.

So in a paragraph, I have put on airs as a self-published writer. And yes, I am so loving it.

Well, this post ain't no hoity-toity literary nugget, but that won't stop me from writing, hehe.

So here it is, my new blog - a repository of rhetoric and conversation between myself and my real and imagined public. And that's the game.
